laughter

Has it ever occurred to us, how significant it is to laugh heartily on a regular basis,  but it should be genuine laughter? Around myself, there are very few genuine attempts at laughter that I get to hear these days except from the kids. Most of the time u can easily categorize the laughter into a obligatory (when ur spouse, peers talk), compulsory when ur boss talks) or a simple and plain superficial laugh. Have we lost the art of laughing healthy?

Today morning  I read a nice article on laughter which I produce below:

“Three monks in China used to do nothing except for traveling from village to village and make people laugh. They did not speak a word but only laugh. Once the entire village learnt the art of laughing they moved to another village. They were called the 3 laughing monks. When they grew old one of them died the other two monks laughed instead of crying. The dead man had requested that he be cremated with his old clothes and that he should not be bathed and changed into a new set of clothes.

Once his body was set fire Chinese crackers that he had hid beneath his robe started to burst making everyone laugh. That was his reason for not wanting a change of clothes and his last laugh.”

In fact this story made me recall that it has been days since even I have had a genuine bout of laughter. The interval is ever increasing between two genuine attempts. Courtesy many reasons like tensions of work, bitterness in relations, paucity of time, I have missed  on the simple exercise of laughing too often and too frequently.

I guess it is time to join a laughter club………………………….
